Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MOHACOM collects, uses, and protects information when you visit www.mohacom.com. It applies to this website only and not to any services we deliver to clients under separate agreements.

Information we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. The information we may process includes:

  • Contact details you give us — such as your name and email address when you contact us by email to enquire about our services.
  • Technical data — your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you visit, logged by our web server and our content delivery network (Cloudflare) for security, abuse prevention, and to keep the site running.
  • Comment data (if you leave one) — your name, email, website, and the comment text itself, along with your IP address and browser user agent. Comment data and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and automatically approve future comments from the same author.

If you upload images to the site (for example as part of a comment), you should avoid uploading images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the site.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide the information or services you request.
  • To operate, secure, and maintain the website and protect it against spam, abuse, and unauthorised access.
  • To meet our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations where applicable.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for direct marketing without your consent.

Cookies

This website uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for it to function:

  • If you leave a comment you can opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience, so you do not have to re-enter them next time. These last for one year.
  • If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, cookies save your login session (two days, or two weeks if you select "Remember Me") and your screen-display preferences (one year). These are removed on log-out.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. It contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Third-party services

This site is delivered through Cloudflare, which may process limited technical data (such as IP address) as a data processor to provide caching, security, and performance. Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be checked against the Gravatar service to see whether you have a profile picture. Gravatar's privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy. After a comment is approved, your profile picture may be visible to the public alongside your comment.

Embedded content (for example videos) behaves in the same way as if you had visited the host website, and those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For any registered users, we store the personal information provided in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (though the username cannot be changed). Administrators can also view and edit that information.

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record-keeping, and are then deleted.

Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how we use your data (this policy);
  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or unnecessary data;
  • Object to, or restrict, certain processing; and
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including secure hosting, network-level protection, restricted access, and regular updates. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date above indicates when the policy was last revised.
